Promitus Solutions is retained to work with the Enterprise Architecture, Strategic Planning, and 
Applications Management Directorates of a Federal Department on a series of workshops to plan the 
adoption of a new IT portfolio management and systems application development methodology and framework.
Promitus facilitates several rounds of workshops with various executive and managements stakeholders that 
culminate in deliverying various process and deliverable maps, an implementation/action plan, and a draft 
directive memorandum for the CIO’s office to  announce the initiative to the entire department.

As part of a major IT transformation program, Promitus is retained to work with a Federal CIO branch to develop
a performance management and outcomes reporting framework for adoption by all IT/IM initiatives throughout the
enterprise. Promitus works with client, Finance, and CIO executive stakeholders employing basic tenets of OPM3,
Treasury Board MAF and MRRS, and Program-Portfolio Management (PPM) to formulate new policy, process and 
procedures.  The framework enables reporting on all IT/IM  outcomes in the annual department performance (DPR) report
to Parliament. 
April 30, 2007 
Promitus is retained to work with one of the Federal Government of Canada cluster groups to conduct a study
for the potential move to a shared service. Promitus facilitated a series of meetings with steering committee
members comprised of CIOs and IT Director Generals from all departments in the cluster.  The study included a
high-level requirements gathering, action plan, and preliminary estimates. A final report was prepared for the 
ADM chair.

Promitus is awarded a contract with the Government of The Bahamas to provide management 
services.  Promitus led the facilitation of the requirements gathering and development 
of a major RFP IT procurement initiative. The initiative spans several federal departments, 
and is to procure a complete multi-million dollar solution to replace the road traffic 
licensing systems and infrastructure.

Promitus is awarded a contract with the Government of Manitoba to provide project management 
services.  The project represents a next step in the transformation of a program to a 
shared service that is uniting provincial workers with a host of native authorities and

ALS/SLA (Amyotrophic Lateral
Sclerosis/Sclérose Latérale Amyotrophique),also known as Lou Gehrig's disease,
is a rapidly progressive fatal neuromuscular
disease characterized by the degeneration of a select group of nerve
cells and pathways in the brain and spinal cord. ALS leads to progressive

1,500 and 2,000 Canadians live with the disease; 90% have no family

operations division to update and modernize the migration process, procedures and tools 
for their testing and verification environment for all web-based applications.

Promitus is awarded an engagement to work directly with the Commissioner of a Federal 
Government Agency and his executive management cadre to prepare a business case 
transformation proposal to form the basis of a Treasury Board submission.  Promitus 
gathered information throughout the organization, as well as input from other 
departments and the central agencies on similar initiatives.  Promitus proceeded to 
identify the major cost benefit drivers, and later prepared a business case complete with 
qualitative and quantitative benefits based on preliminary cost and schedule estimates.

Agency’s Information Technology (IT) Branch, to design, develop, and put in place an 
enterprise-wide readiness assessment process.  The process is necessary for ensuring that 
all application releases are: coordinated with each other in terms of integration/interfaces 
as well as timing/scheduling; successfully completed with respect to the various development, 
testing, validation and verification activities; and regarded with an overall high degree of 
confidence that the cutover to production will go as planned, or that the fallback or 
contingency plan can be quickly and fully exercised with no interruption to ongoing 
production system operations.

manager and senior advisor on two distinct departmental business intelligence implementation projects for two different Federal
Government Departments. These
systems serve to provide various types of users financial information from the
department's financial ERP Systems.  Some common challenges and best practices emerged from these implementations. Promitus
Solutions presented the process that unfolded, some key lessons learned, and
some key considerations to successfully realizing a business intelligence
implementation.

Customs and Revenue Agency 
 
In a rare opportunity provided through CCRA's GOL Project Office, Promitus
Solutions was invited to present our views on Defining Success for Technology
Projects to this CCRA-internal management committee.  The presentation
discussed how to maintain flexibility while managing scope, and offered some techniques
for successfully taking a technology project beyond
implementation and through rollout, thereby realizing true overall success. This
presentation became instrumental in gaining executive buy-in to an enhanced
delivery model for an agency-wide web infrastructure program budgeted at over
$30M.
